If You Can't Be Deep, Be Funny Linky Party Fun

It is that time again! Wednesdays are known as hump days as we are finally going over the hump of midweek and coasting to the weekend. It is also a day that I am usually needing a giggle or smile to help get through! I woke up today ready to have another "If You Can't Be Deep, Be Funny!" linky party!

It's a Magical Product Swap!

Today I am so glad to be a part of a Magical Product Swap! There are so many wonderful teachers taking part who have swapped resources and used them with their kiddos. You get to then see how they are used! To read about more resources just click below!

For my partner, I was lucky enough to be paired with Teach with Laughter.

She has so many adorable resources in her store. I was so blown away with her creativity. Her I Spy Letters packs are genius! For our product swap, I got to use her PB and J Compound Words pack.

This made such a fun activity with my kiddos! I decided to make it into a file folder game so that I could use it again in the future. I first put the poster on the front of the file.

On the inside, I attached her compound word poster that teachers compound words with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich theme. Too cute!

 

Next, I cut an envelope in half to use as a pocket on the other side of the file. I then cut out all of the cards and placed them in the pocket.

To use the game, students pair the pieces of sandwich in order to create a compound word. They write their compound words on an adorable record sheet. After completing the center, a word search puzzle is included to expand their new skill. I would highly recommend this pack! Your kids will have a blast!

My first CURRENTLY!

Hi guys! Today is going to be crazy busy but I thought I would link up with Farley at Oh, Boy Fourth Grade on her CURRENTLY linky! If you have never seen these, they are too cute! It is a great way to give a snapshot of what my life is looking like at the beginning of each month. Plus, she has the cutest graphics! So, without further ado... here you go!

Favorite Classroom Projects Linky Party

It's another Linky Party! Amanda from "Teaching Maddeness" is having a Linky Party to showcase some of our favorite classroom projects. Here is the link to join in on the fun!

Here is one of my classroom projects that I am most looking forward to! I am always looking for ways to record what we have learned in an interesting way so that the kids will WANT to go back and read through it. So this year, we will be having a Pony Express. As we are having a western theme, which I talked about here, we are going to create a weekly newspaper! Throughout the week, my kids will have an opportunity to work on writing articles using information they are learning that week. They will then follow the writing process to prepare it for "publishing" on Friday.

At the end of the week, the kids will have an opportunity to place their article onto a chart that looks like this:

Each week will have articles by all three, even my K-3 daughter. She will be featured in the Artist's Corner with a picture she created that week. The finished product will look something like this:

Each Monday, we will flip the chart for the next "newspaper" layout. At the end of the year, we will have a year's worth of review! We can reread the newspaper and look at how we have learned and grown throughout the year! This could be integrated into any homeschool or classroom! If I had a full size class, I thought about including newspaper reporters in my classroom helper lists. Those who have the jobs could create articles for the end of the week!
